Years ago I read of using a soldering iron to cut foam rubber for stamps,
So I tried it. Instantly the smoke and stench knocked my socks off...Sock
being costly these days I called the POISON CONTROL NUMBER.

In NY State, at least, the PC people are wonderful. I always tell them
straight off this is not an emergency...and they are very informative.
About the foam they said: OH NO!

MORAL: Please. Before you try something new involving anything "chemical"
check, check, check. The time to check is BEFORE.
