Does anyone have an idea how I can get rid of unwanted lines that appear on
the surface of my raku pots?
I use a combination of glazed and unglazed sections on my pots, and I get
very fine variegated horizontal lines that appear in the unglazed sections.
These lines break up the black on my pots, as some are darker than others.
It's almost as if the lines follow the motion of the rib that's used to
finish my pots in the trimming stage. The difference in black color also
seems to be reflected occasionally in differences in the glazed areas too
(again, in a horizonal direction). Has this happened to anyone else? Any
idea what causes it?

I haven't had this happen exactly, but for a rich black, I put a
terra sig on the surface or pots.
I combine raw areas with glazed and like the full blackness I get
from the terra sig.
It does make the glaze go on thin. Have to build that up.
