yes, Bonnie;

Lee Love said that this is how Shimaoka applied his enamels, so I tried
it with water suspended oxides (like I usually brush on) and it worked
a treat.

Dissolve a package of Knox gelatin in a cup of water, and heat in a pan
until completely dissolved. Cool until it is a nice brushing
consistency, and brush over the area on the dry glazed surface where
you wish to stamp your design. Maybe make two coats. When dry, you can
stamp your design using a glass plate to adjust your oxide consistency
and to provide a flat non-absorbent surface. Start with it a bit
thicker than for brushing. Do a few tests on bisque that has been
glazed with the glaze you intend to use. Stamp the design and fire to
see if the oxide strength is right. Once you are satisfied that the
setup gives you the result you wish........ do the project you are
contemplating.

Good Luck............ & Cheers, Hank

Hi Hank,

Would you mind sharing the gelatin process for applying to a stamp? Thanks
in advance.
