I met a woman who was getting rid of all her glaze chemicals...yes of =
course I would come and get them...get them out of her way!
Two pickup loads she said....and not kidding!!
It has been fun to experiment with them. As soon as I figure out what I =
can use...I am sure some of it will end up on the potterbarter list!!

Right now I have a question about Zircopax and Opax and Milled Zircon.
I put the 10% Zircopax in Tony Hansen's 20 x 5 glassy Base Glaze. It is =
the color of margarine!
I put 8% Milled Zircon in High Calcium Semimatte Base 1 from Mastering =
Glazes.
It is not quite opaque
I put 8 % Opax in Glossy Base Glaze 1 from Mastering Glazes. It is a =
very nice opaque white.
I was under the impression that these 3 would make the glazes white and =
opaque. Am I wrong? Will the Zircopax be a light yellow in all these =
glazes or because of the other ingredients will they react differently? =
I have at least 2 gallons of each...or more. =20
All three of the glazes are very nice...I just didn't expect the =
differences!
Thanks ...
Susan

Dear Susan,
Any chance that the material labeled Zircopax is mislabled and could be
Titanium? I have some nice buttery yellows by adding 10 Titanium to clear
bases, but have not tried it in 20 x 5 . Will do. Zircopax has only
opacified glazes I have used it in, usually giving a hard white as oposed
to a softer white like Tin.
