keraflex - porcelain tape

Chris,
If you try the ceramic tape, be aware that it will
produce a lot more fumes when fired than ordinary
clay. The organic binder typically used for tape
casting is usually something like toluene, and the
fumes are nasty, so vent the kiln very well. It's a
very interesting product.
Good experimenting,
Dave Finkelnburg

One of the vendors at NCECA was telling me
about this product from Europe.

Look around the site at the images of
the classes and artwork ...
It looks extremely interesting !!

I am trying to find out if there is a source for
it in the US yet.

Chris that sounds like a really interesting product.
I would be really interested in knowing more\if you find a
North American distributor.

I have had some health problems lately that
have dramatically impacted my ability to
throw pots and jeweler and tiles have
become my alternative.
Would love to know more.

Kathy

I wrote to this company and they responded that they did not have a US
distributor. The email also said they had attached data for my =
information.
However, my McAfee had blocked it and when I unblocked the email, there =
was
no attachment shown. So will have to either write again or figure out =
what
others have received.

They did say that one could buy directly from them. =20

Kerafol

Hi Chris, Kathy, Bonnie

This product has been on the market here around two years now. I have
never tried it. Apart from the toxic fumes which can even explode, it is
quite expensive. One sheet A4 is USD 16.49, 1 m, 40 cm wide tape is USD
60.48 and a quarter liter of the foil slip is USD 7.

By the way I am a great admirer of Chris's work

best regards,
heidy
