ward burner system website

Is there something up with Ward Burner's website? The last two days
whenever I try to go there I get an error 403.1 that refers to an
administrative permission not being met. Is anyone else having this
problem?

And this leads into what got this started in the first place. Is there one
consolidated website that sells more than just a few manufacturers ceramic
kiln burners? And just how do they rate against each other? I have gone
through the archives and opinions seem to vary based on just which one or
two different kinds people have used in the past. Some people like weed
burners (Don Reitz used Big Bertha's for years) others say they will wear
out in no time, get the MR-750 and others will say that these are so poorly
done that they lack turndown ratio get Ransom or Eclipse or ... I would
like to put this up for open discussion "Just what are the pros and cons of
various brands and types of burners". And just to somewhat limit the scope
of the banter just LP gas burners. Have at it folks, and just so folks know
I fire with wood, I'm just looking for some heat, being 51 with bad knees
and back takes some of the fun out of 18 hour wood firing by yourself.

I thank you!

Up here in Wisconsin where the women know how to take charge and the men say
"Yes dear" if they want to see the sun rise in the morning.

There are times when the internet security system is updated. After these
updates, I frequently have problems getting onto sites. Have called my
security system and told them of the problem. They have always helped me.

Strangely, they have walked me through and removed the updates. This leads
me to wonder why they bother updating in the first place....

This may be what is happening with your system...

I have used weed burners to fire raku but I think they are gas hogs.
After getting
my burners built as I requested by Marc Ward, my raku firings are
very efficient.
I am guessing that I fire for much less than $2 a batch. My two
smaller kilns are
24" diameter x 2' fiber walls and a brick base, the other is about
22" diameter with a 2'
fiber walls and brick base. I can fire both these kilns for at the
same time at least ten
times each before needing to refill my 3
20 pound tanks which are plumbed in tandem. That is enough for two
afternoons
of firing. I fill up the tanks for $15-19 after a workshop with 2
days of firing.
I took some big bertha's to Spain to fire some kilns I built over
there. They work OK but
I still think one should use a regulator and more efficient burners.
My co-op partners have a Zen raku kiln. They don't like the burner
that came with it. It
was used and I don't know if their burner came with the kiln or not.
They borrow my Marc Ward burner.
It fires much faster than theirs by an hour per batch.
I am hooked on Marc's designs. They are efficient and work really
well. And always one
should use a regulator to control the output of gas pressure.
