I have been back to pottery (my first love) for the past three years after
an almost a 30 year hiatus.
I guess I'm addressing old timers from the east coast. In the 70's at
Teachers College Columbia University ceramics department we used a clay that
was made for us by the Stuart clay company of lower Manhattan. Many other
schools and studios used it. It was simply called TC clay. It was the best
throwing clay I ever encounted (no, this is not nostalgia, it really was
great). Stuart has long since gone.
Does anyone out there know if there is someone about who worked with or for
Stuart who would know something about this clay?
Any hints or leads no matter how far out would be appreciated.
Mitch
