What grade do you teach? If they are old enough, be a bear about clean-up.
The class is dismissed by you - NOT the bell and NOT until the room passes
inspection.

I'm a new ceramic teacher who is new too ceramics! Go figure aye! well,
is there any advice for cleaning without all the work? I'm not lazy, just
busy. I don't want silicosis if I do this for long.

I clean for a clay manufacturer in Ohio every other day. I found what works
for me is to clean the floor and tables every day. When cleaning the floors
I use saw dust with water added but not drenched. I also dust shelves and
any high areas with a sponge and water every other day (tues & thurs).
Keeping on top of the dust is what cuts it out. Here are some links that
address silica dust (if the links don't work please don't contact me about
it):
The two links are from OSHA and have good information

e.html#Factors
This is real detailed and has a lot of info

This is a great little poster for general knowledge in the classroom

This site goes into do and don'ts

Good info

Good luck
