Good point about the scales. I saw two Ohaus triple beam scales the
had been at LabX.com at auction with no bids. Auction closed. They
were reasonably priced

Before you start buying ingredients for everything from French
cuisine to Chinese Cooking.
it would be better to focus.
There are many fluxes for many temperature ranges.
EXAMPLE:
^10 Fluxes could include Cornwall stone, Kona-F4 Feldspar, Whiting,
Zinc, wood ash
^6 would include more frits, nepheline syenite, Custer Feldspar, wood
ash
Raku would use mostly Frits, Gerstley Borate, Borax,
Majolica would call for Frits, and tin
Then you'd need silica, Kaolin, Ball clay, Bentonite
Plus colorants like cobalt, copper, iron, rutile, or stains.
There is a lot of money potentially tied up in glazes.
It would almost be worth your time to go take a class at a well
supplied studio and experiment there to discover what you'd like to
with with. There is much more precise information regarding this
question in the archives. I know I have answered it more specifically
before but focusing on one temperature range.
Good luck,
