Almost all potters i know are fair people. Most potters i know sell their
work for fair prices.
You can sell your used equipment or put it up for sale. I always choose the
former. The price is set to "sell". It is below fair market value. If I had
a price of $375 on a used kiln and a potter offered me $200 for it, the
price would instantly become $750. If they waited a week and said they would
come and take it off my hands, I would tell them I'd rather take it to the
dump than sell it to them.
We offer "nice people"discounts. Nice people always get a pot slipped into
their bag, an unexpected discount or a special something. Nice kids that are
with nice people get to pick out a cup for themselves from our kids basket.
They are our future customers.
Someone that asks for a discount is not given the time of day. I usually ask
the question "Do you think the price is fair????" If they answer "no" we
have nothing more to talk about. Same, if they answer "yes".
Treat potters fairly and you will get more than your monies worth.
Cheers,
Tony
