Thank you, Steve, thank you, Janet!

And when I wrote "Brasileira" it should have been with an "s" not "z."

And Janet: you made the point better than I did...that even ONE pound of a
material goes a long way.

Thank you both.

Thank so much for the help you guys offered. I am sorry that the table was
messed up, so I am sending it again, regular typing.

Olá, is hello, generic in portuguese. It is so nice to have you all try
portuguese!!!
Tchau or Adeus is goodbye.
Abraços is a common goodbye phrase in letters and means hugs to you
(brazilians love hugs).
Muito Obrigada is Thank you very much(woman saying).
There you go, a little portuguese.
Here we are in the autumn, and the weather is nice and blue skyes are a
given. My kiln is firing like crazy, and I got a nice load of pots for a
mother's day "bazar"(fair) this weekend.
If you can help with the frit problem, I really appreciate. The cost of some
glazes is very expensive here since some prices are in dollar and the
exchange does not help...

Heloisa --

The problem in substituting Brasilian frits for
Ferro Frit 3134 or 3195 is that they have very
high boron content -- about 1/5 of all the
molecules in 3134 and 3195 are boron -- and
neither of the two Brasilian frits you have
formulae for are nearly so high.

Unlike 3124, I can't give you a sub that you can
mix in advance and use in lieu of the American
frit. If you have a whole recipe that you're
trying to substitute for, it may still be
possible, by using more of a Brasilian frit and
reducing the other silica, alumina, and
(probably) calcium sources to re-establish the
balance of materials you're aiming for.

If you want to post (or send me) a recipe or two,
I'd be happy to try to help you.

En 81-83, eu morei na esquina da Alameda Lorena e
Rua Padre Joao Manoel, nas Jardins. A economia
era ma, mas a vida era boa. Eu aprendi portugues
do Gil Gomez -- Salio da casa Antonio ... salio
... no pe! Salio de manha da casa jovem Antonio
no pe, e nunca volvio!

Nivele agora, tenho saudades.
