Hey Mayor Mel,

Please elaborate on your home made banding wheels. I have been a bit
disappointed with the very light cast aluminum banding wheel I have.=20
The only way I can get enough mass for good intertia is to stack
several hardi bats on top. Not exactly secure. I've been wanting to
make my own but have not thought of a good place to start yet.

Taylor, et. al.

I have one of those lightweight aluminum
jobs. A few drops of light machine oil on
the pin it rotates on works wonders.

To add mass you can epoxy lead wheel
weights underneath the platform. Any
tire store should have these in abundance.
If you don't get it balanced you can start
drilling out small amounts of the lead on
the heavy side until it is balanced. To
determine if it's balanced oil it up and
hold it horizontally. The heavy part will
rotate to the bottom.
