Dear ClayArt Friends,
I hope that you have already heard about the Potters Council English
Connection conference, and have either signed up or are considering attending. I am
sending this note today because, since there are still some spaces
available, the Potters Council has decided to open registration to one include one-day
passes. The online registration process only allows for full registration,
so those interested in signing up for just one day will need to phone
Danielle McIntosh at the Potters Council to register. (614-794-5827)
Six of us will be presenting at The English Connection. The American
potters are Bill Van Gilder, Dan Finnegan and Nan Rothwell. The British are Micki
Schloessingk, Toff Milway and Sylvia Dales. The conference will mark the
first time that the six of us will teach and show together. Five of us studied
at the Harrow School of Art during the early 1970's. Dan Finnegan met Toff
Milway shortly after that, when the two of them worked at Winchcombe. We have
all been making functional pots for most of the past thirty years. It
should be fascinating to see how our initial training has morphed into six
individual styles. The conference will include some discussion time, but most of it
will be studio demonstrations.
We've all heard great reviews from those who have attended the previous
Potters Council regional conferences. Please join us for this one, and also
