I had one teacher in the studio who thought she knew
more than me (the tech). I would come in and find that
she had pulled the peep hole plugs on a firing.
(Everyone KNOWS you have to vent the kiln during
firing). I had to explain to her that yes, you vent
the kiln, but NO you don't remove the plugs because
THESE kilns and the venting system were designed so
that you kept the plugs in during firing. I had to
show her the little holes drilled in the lid and
explain how it worked.
