I am new to pottery. I have only been throwing since December '05. I =
have done
it enough now that I know I would like to buy my own wheel. The studio =
that I
work in now had Shimpo wheels, both RK and VL Whispers and I really like =
them
and thought for sure that is what I would get. Lately though I have =
been
reading up on the Bailey wheels and searching the web for reviews on =
Bailey
wheels. I have had a hard time finding a review that was not positive. =
The
Bailey wheel I am considering is the Pro-X model. One concern of mine =
is the
size of the motor but it seems everyone has said the motor works great. =
Anyway
the bottom line is I am looking for advice on the wheel I should get. =
Can
anyone here tell me anything positive or negative on Bailey wheels? =
Your help
is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I love my Bailey Pro X. I have used it for about 2-3 years now, no
problems, still very quiet.
Usual disclaimer. Good luck,

Dear Phil,
I have had my Bailey for 5 years. I like it. It is quiet. Runs on the
slower side which is fine by me.
I can adjust the height of the legs on mine which I also find helpful
for my back.
The splash pan cleans up easily too. No complaints. I wish they had
had the new
top that they have now when I got my wheel.

Six years ago I bought a Bailey wheel sight unseen and never tried and had
it shipped half way around the world and I have never regretted it. One of
my students tried mine and brought one back from the US as part of her
luggage and I know of at least three other Bailey's in Dubai. Bailey's
after sales service cannot be beaten either. Great wheels. Good company.
Best regards,
Carol
