A group of us are planning a Raku firing and got together to make glazes. One glaze we made is called Sacco Blue Hawii Copper. We used:
240 g Lithium Carbonate
25 g Copper Carbonate
380 g Gertsley Borate
200 g Spodumene
180 g Ultox Extra
and have approximately 1 1/2 L of glaze.
I'm reading John and Ron's book and the reference to Lithium Carbonate
has me expecting serious problems. We are novices but would like to salvage the glaze, even if it means dividing it, adding materials and making other glazes from it. Any recommendations, especially from the glaze gurus, will be very much appreciated and I thank you in advance.
Although I joined ClayArt just last month, I have learned a great deal, and want to thank you all, Mel especially, for all your input, dedication and hard work on our behalf. Mel, please do not consider cutting off those who do not post, I'm sure there are many out there. like myself, who are learning every day from the wealth of material presented.
...and now, empty pop can in hand, I'm off to my wheel to learn how to tap center... Thank you, Barb
