pug mill safety

All pug mills are 100% safe. The only way
people get hurt is doing something they
should not do. Both my big ribbon mixer
and the pug mill are wide mouth designs
like the walker. Since 1976, I and my
employees have mixed over 8,000,000
pounds of clay (supported by sales records)
without a single injury, all because we observed
the cardinal rule:

No hands or tools are ever permitted inside
either machine when it is running. Thinking you
can save time by not shutting it off is shear
folly. Workers who did not follow this rule
were fired with cause.
Stories of people slipping and falling into
the machines are also an example of poor
safety practice. We keep a wet vac by
the mixer. Work ceases if there is a spill
until the floor is clean and dry. Clay is
just too slippery to permit such an event to
go uncorrected.
End of lecture... getting down off high horse...
errr... ;-)
