I have a Sno Kiln model P27. I need to replace the switches because they
are arcing when I fire the kiln. I have been trying to find replacements
from somewhere; does anyone know where I can get a replacement switch? I
think the model on the switches is INF 240-31B also on the switch is
15A-240. They have 4 prongs coming off the back of the switch. If I can't
find a simple replacement switch will I have to rewire the entire kiln with
alternate switches? If anyone has any information that would help me I
would be very grateful. Thanks.

Vaughn

Which way do you turn it to go to high? Clockwise or counter
clockwise? Bracker's carries both (and other suppliers might as
well) but the direction is important.
By the way, INF stands for infinite control, 31B is a model number
for that particular brand of switch, 15A stands for 15 Amps, and 240
is 240 Volts.
It would also be helpful to know if it says "PAL" on it anywhere and/
or who the switch mfgr is, which should be impressed into the
plastic, but if it's really old, it might not be.

Hello Cindy,

It has been a while and I have been using the kiln and firing to both 06
bisque as well as 6 glaze loads. Today however as I was firing a bisque and
working in the studio it started to smell a little funny. I don't think it
is one of the switches, I think it a connections but I am still interested
in getting some replacement switches so that when I do go about replacing
some of the wiring I will just do the replacement of the switches as well.
From the last e-mail that I sent. The switch is off when it is facing
down. Low is on the right side of the off position and High Fire is on the
left side of the switch. Please let me know if you have an infinite switch
that would work to replace these. Thanks.

Vaughn.
