Dear Clayfolks,
The gas company turned the gas on earlier this week, and the City inspector
came and went from the new studio this morning. He left his initials right
beside "Mechanical Inspection - Final" for the gas connections, kiln, hood,
chimney, etc. What a huge relief - I could just dance! The four MR 75
burners make some beautiful fire in this, my first - albeit small (16 cu
ft), gas kiln. Now I can start learning to drive it. Still some stuff to
do to complete the building - water line, sink, shelves, and cabinets, but
getting the kiln signed off feels like a big deal to me. I had more than
one person (not Clayart, of course) tell me "not in the city limits, you
won't." Thank you all for the daily encouragement, whether you were aware
of it or not.
