another problem.

we get amazing gold lustre with
our iron saga pots.

but, we do not reduce at all...never.
oxidize up and down to cone 12+

when we down fire in reduction we
get the normal brown body, and reduction
glazes.

the lustre is only happening in oxidization.
and we don't live in oz.

we live in heaven. you know, upper central usa.

Dear Mel.

Thanks for that note.

You call that gift from the Kiln Goddess a problem. We should all be so =
lucky ! ! ! !

Some time ago I had a saunter into the realms of Resinate lustre. =
Interesting process making those babies. Mixed result for a while firing =
on white commercial tiles at about 650 deg C. Then Iron salts came up =
trumps. Dark Copper Gold Metallic.

Would not like to say where yours comes from without the "Knowledge". =
Nor will I ask for that.

Wrote about four pages today on the "reduction" thing. Great day. Rained =
most of the time. Good for this part of Oz.

All the best,

Ivor.
