So Mel got me goin with those MFT plans and I've been
looking for firebrick sources. I found this ad on

Does arch brick mean that they are cut to be used in
an arch? Naive people want to know.

Looks good on paper but shipping to California could be rather expensive.
Empires will stand way more than ^11. I had them to ^14 in the front of my
wood kiln and they were clean as a whistle.

Yes! If you have a copy of Daniel Rhodes' "Kilns, Design, Construction, and
Operation" available he gives line drawing descriptions of the 13 standard
firebrick shapes on p. 86. I don't think an MFT needs arch brick but I could
be wrong. They could be useful in a catenary but you wouldn't need that
many. If you can afford that deal you might be better off ordering a couple
pallets of 9" standards from a local distributor.
Is it possible the seller means "#2 Arch" brick.
