Does anyone on know if there is direct public transportation from Gatwick
airport, England to Dover where one either ferries or takes the Chunnel to
Calaise, France? I don`t want to back-track to London to the big train
station there if we don`t have to.

Hi

From Gatwick, you can catch a train to Ashford in Kent where there is access to the Eurostar train to France. A useful website is www.thetrainline.co.uk where you should find what you are looking for.
