Dear Richard White,=20

I have read that as well.

But I wish to know where the reaction given by Yvonne Huthchinson Cuff =
came from which shows that Calcium Fluoride is oxidised to give Calcium =
Oxide (Lime) and Fluorine monoxide or is it Oxygen Di-fluoride.

Speculating it seems more probable that Calcium Fluorite is decomposed =
by steam, or with Silica and then water in the atmosphere, to give lime =
and hydrofluoric acid, a chemical which when moist will etch glass .

Whatever, still dangerous stuff.

Best regards,

Ivor
