Out of the Fire Studio is excited to host a free demonstration and slide
presentation by Ernest Aryee. Ernest is an artist and employee of Shimpo
Cone Art. At a young age, Ernest was inspired to try pottery and
participated in his first wood firing at the age of 16. After graduating
from the College of Art (UST) Kumasi, he has since lived and traveled
through Togo, great Britain, Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, and the
United States in the interest of clay. He has participated in residencies
with Baltimore Clayworks, John Michael Kohler Arts/Industry Program, and
the Art Institute of Chicago. On numerous other occasions he has been
involved in various workshop and lecture opportunities. In 1995 he
completed a graduate degree in Ceramics at SIU (Carbondale). A passion for
large wheel-thrown pottery and large scale sculptural work fuels his
artistic efforts. He has fifteen years of first-hand knowledge in clay.

Shimpo and Plainsman Pottery Supply are pleased to announce that Ernest
will be giving two FREE demonstrations on the potter's wheel, as well as a
slide presentation of his work, Sunday June 25th from 11am to 2 pm and
Monday June 26th from 7pm to 9pm at the studio. Everyone is welcome!
