Hello all;
This is how they used to repair pottery in Southern
Italy - Il Mezzogiorno. I took the photo earlier this
month. Sorry about the reflection. This plate was
broken into 3 parts and stitched back together. The
crack is filled with a mixture of ashes, crushed egg
shells and water. It doesn't look very good safe by
today's standard. It was 1 lira a stitch. I don't know
how long ago though. There wasn't any description in
the museum.
