hello.....
i'm having a bit of a problem with my brent model b
wheel. the minute i turn the wheel on, when the foot
pedal is set at zero), the wheel spins on its own. the
wheel head won't rest still while the power is on.
i've had this problem before with a shimpo wheel and
all i had to do was reset it, but i don't know how to
do that here. does anyone have any experience with
this problem? this is my first wheel, so i apologize
if i'm doing a poor job explaining this. also, i
currently have my wheel on a screened porch (it's
enclosed, so no direct rain or anything) but i'm
worried that the high humidity in the air this summer
is causing the problems. sorry for all the novice
questions-- any help or suggestions would be greatly
appreciated. thanks,
katie

Katherine, I had the very same experience this spring with my Brent
CXC--after the pedal had sat in water when my studio was flooded.
Once I had used the shop vac to get the water out of the studio and
dried everything out my wheel acted just like yours. In fact, I have
the CXC and a C and both did the same. I expected to have to work on
the pedals but a day or so later--after everything had really dried
out they worked perfectly again. So my guess is the humidity. Now
someone else will have to suggest a solution! I wonder if a hair
dryer might help?

Search the archives for last week when this problem was discussed and the
pedal adjustments were explained.
