Dear Charlie
I am testing your glazes that you so generously posted. They seem straight
forward. But in your claybody recipie there is an ingredient I can't figure
out. What is FHC? When I find out, I'll probably have a Homer Simpson
'Duh" moment.
Have you considered doing a book on making the shift to cone 1?
Thanks

Hi Jeanie,
FHC is New Foundry Hill Creme. According to the manufacturer, it is
"an intermediate-grained engineered blend offering excellent moisture
retention and plasticity properties. Ideally suited for a wide
variety of stoneware applications and wet forming
process." http://www.spinksclay.com/Products/productlisting.html
I like the idea that this clay may be more consistent from batch to
batch because they mix several clays to create it.
I have considered a writing a book. I'm slowly gathering data, but
running a gallery, teaching classes, and making my own work keeps my
plate full.
