TECHNICAL ASSISTANT CERAMICS DEPARTMENT The Cleveland Institute of=20
Art is seeking a full-time Technical Assistant in the Ceramics Department=20=
to=20
compliment and support the undergraduate ceramics program and its =20
comprehensive facility. Responsibilities: Manage equipment and facility=20=
under direct=20
supervision of the Ceramics Department Head, maintain equipment and=20
facility as needed; manage, inventory, and order materials; supervise faci=
lities=20
and work-study students; assist all levels of ceramics students, participa=
te=20
in studio critiques and weekly meetings with ceramics faculty. Knowled=
ge,=20
Skills, Abilities: Good communication, supervisory, and organizational =20
skills. Mechanical ability and knowledge and experience with ceramic equipme=
nt and=20
safety. Knowledge of welding, woodworking, and basic shop tool skills.=20
Basic knowledge of electric and gas kiln repair. Applicant must be respons=
ible=20
and have the ability to work with and manage students. Requirements: M=
FA=20
or equivalent is required. Compensation: Current commitment is 30 hours=20
per week for the Technical Assistant position in the degree program. Benef=

package included. Position begins mid-August 2006 through mid-May 2007.=20
Studio space, firing, and 500 lbs. of clay per semester is provided during=
the=20
