>Hi Gang,
> This morning after my kiln had been on for about 3 hrs. I walked out
>to check on it again & white smoke like I've never seen before was pouring
>out of the open peep hole at the top of my kiln it kind of smelled
>electrical. ( I'm not good at judging smells) It looked like my kiln had
>taken a big ol' puff on a cigarette & was blowing it out in a steady
>stream. Naturally I shut everything off . The kiln , the breaker, the fire
>right controller. I unplugged the kiln from the wall. My kiln has a "Fire
>Right jr." controller on it that increases the temp in 10% incriments
>(sp?). With my firing schedule that's about 10% an hour 'till it it reaches
>the desired cone in a time period that I choose.
> I've NEVER seen wax smoking like that in my past firings with this
>kiln. I haven't opened the kiln to look inside 'cause it's still warm.
>Does it sound like I'm in trouble???

> What could possably be smoking like that in a kiln? I don't know what
>kind of kiln it is because I got it used from Seattle Pottery Supply &
>there are no markings or labels on it. All I know is it's older .
>AAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGG !
> Anybody have any Ideas? I sent this post to Arnold already. Now I'm
>just waiting to hear back from him . I just thought hearing from any of
>you folks might help make the time spent waiting for the hubby to get home
>to open the kiln go by a little easier.
> Thanks!!!
