I've gotten a few questions regarding the Potters Council regional
workshop we are hosting at Francis Marion University in Florence, SC.
First off, we are not a private girls school. HA. We are a state
university, honest to gosh. Second, the theme for the workshop is
surface development. I've tried to select presenters that address
surface at all the various stages. Some will be working in clay, others
with glazes, still others will discuss firing techniques. I'll even be
doing a brief demo on digital image transfers or greenware, bisque and
glazed surfaces. We will have potters and sculptors working both days.
So, I am certain there will be something for just about everyone.

Yes, the number of seats for the conference is limited. We do this so
you will have maximum opportunity to interact with the presenters. So
if you are remotely interested, check the potters council web page for
registration information. Or shoot me an email and I can send you a pdf
file of the registration form. It is going to be a great workshop and a
real bargain too.

Don't let the heat worry you. We have the AC running inside. Promise.
But if you really need to cool down, the outdoor pool is only yards away
from the Art building. Bathing suits required.

I'll try to respond to more of the specific questions next week, when I
have more time to sit at the computer.

Until then,
Doug
