Hi, Antoinette, I would listen to the president of L.L. Kilns and his reply
to you. If you are wondering why your kiln will not fire down like you
program it to, it is like what he said. You must put a cone in the sitter
that is much higher than the cone you wish to fire to. What you are trying
to do is prevent the sitter from tripping itself, so the computer controller
can take over. Otherwise, the sitter will trip and shut the kiln off and
then there is nothing for your computer to do anymore because the kiln is
not on anymore. Try this simple solution first before expanding into the
realm of bodies and glazes and whatever.
