I have a question to ask those of you who have built an Olsen fast fire =
wood/gas kiln. What type of shelves do you use for the top of the =
firebox/bottom of the kiln. In his book he recommends 1 inch thick =
mullite shelves, but I seem to be having a problem locating these. The =
suppliers I have contacted do not carry them and cannot/ will not =
recommend a substitute. So what else could I use? I plan on firing to =
cone10 with mostly wood. Any info. would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

When we built ours we used lintel bricks, purchased from Larkin Furnace.
