E.'s work is definitely worth visiting from time to time. One can
see in her work that ....okay, she's very talented, of course, get
that one behind us. Beyond her talent, she offers a wide range
of forms, cunning painterly effects, tiles ...... all completed, in my =
should-
be-more-humble opinion, with expertise, finesse and an understanding of
her clay, glazes and firing techniques as well as where she wants to go
with her art.=20

Although E. apparently
began this journey with the bar high, one can still find jumps of
growth which make her retrospective exciting. The opening pitcher
has an inordinate appeal for me. Contrast it with her delicate=20
paintings ...... yes, exciting. Thanks for sharing, Elizabeth.

Joyce
In the Mojave desert of California USA where it's 8:43 a.m. and I've
squeezed in my first three solid hours in the studio before the
broiling heat comes oozing and rampaging into our very bones ....
must remember that these months are the payback for such
glorious 8 or 9 others.... July, August, September, thy names are
Miserable, Ugly, Sick. I try to imagine the plight of the pioneers
who managed to make the whole journey through the snow-drifted
passes only to discover the deadly desert stretched before them......
miles and miles and miles.......... with scorpions, rattlesnakes of
all kinds (some of which are only found here so we provide the
venom from which "they" can create anti-venom which they then
fly to us when the need is there...... wonderful world! We had a
7th grade Animal Behavior teacher who "collected" the venom on
his Days Off.), and the ubiquitous black widows who are=20
everywhere..... hmmm already said that, didn't I? .......
no wonder they named it Death Valley! What a hearty group! You
think they let a little arthritis stop them???? For shame, Joyce.
