also, we would like to announce a
panel for nceca 2007

"Ceramic Education Through Electronic Resources"
Mel Jacobson/Moderator
panel: Vince Pitelka, Elizabeth `Snail` Scott and Guangzhen "Po" Zhou

we will be asking a few of you
to conduct a `breakout` session, informing
folks about clayart and electronic education.

there is a good chance that we will be handing
out literature about clayart at nceca.

get your black t shirts cleaned and pressed.
you gotta` look great. a time to shine.

there is a very good possibility that the Galt house` hotel
will give us a room to have a very serious `clayart show`.

it will not be judged. it will be `set it up` when you get to louisville.
my thought is:
bring a pot, in a box that can be used as a display stand, and
fabric to make your baby, solo show look wonderful. we will all
get equal billing, no bully stuff. just show your piece, and we show
together...as a group, in our hotel, as part of the clayart room
experience. you make your own signs, name cards...and we will
have a sorta basic set of rules for size and color...you know, no twelve
foot posters with arrows...JOYCE LEE POTS ARE HERE >

i am also working with the hotel to have a few of us bring
teapots to put in the lobby. i am going to ask about twenty
potters to do this...it has to be folks that make
great teapots...and, i have some ideas.
this will be totally my call, and no one will get hurt. if i ask you,
just do it. i want the lobby of the galt house to be filled with
teapots....their concern is liability...well, so be it...it they
break, they break. if the twenty folks don't get their undies
in a bunch, it will be a great moment for clayart. i am even thinking
of making the teapot a donation... sell them all, use the money for new clayart
software and whatever we need. that way, no one will steal them, or
break them...it would be embarrassing...like stealing honey from a blind guy.
so, things are a poppin.
we are not sitting around in our underwear, watching cartoons and drinking
beer.

It's been some time since you posted this, Mel, but I wanted to express my
appreciation and excitement to all of you who are arranging so much for Clayart
at the next NCECA. It looks as if it is going to be more exciting and
meaningful than ever. I am so looking forward to this coming March, getting to be a
part of such a wonderful group in person again, and participating in anything
that is Clayart-related.

Thanks to all and to you in particular, Mayor Mel.

Looking forward to Louisville.

All the best.

When you all come to NCECA, don't forget that I live only 45 minutes south
of Louisville. Please come visit me at Fox Hollow.

Hi Jean and everyone! I can second this suggestion. We've been out to =
see Jean at her studio each time we visit my husband's family in =
Elizabethtown, KY. We have enjoyed meeting and talking with her =
immensely. By all means drive south from Louisville (through some =
beautiful country) and stop for a visit. We will most likely be there =
for NCECA if we can swing the finances... (just got a big new kiln from =
this year's NCECA) It will be a long trip for us, but we are road =
warriors.
