I am thinking about selling my smaller clay mixer since the larger one i am
building is almost done now and i need the cash to buy a more powerful air
compressor.
The mixer is similar to a bluebird but with a better motor (2HP farm duty)
and can mix 150-200 lb batches. I built this myself from high quality
components, all stainless steel inside the mixer. The only drawbacks are
that, although it was built to be a dump style mixer, it is very hard to
dump with a full load of clay inside but that really does not matter - it
is easy enough to just reach in and scoop the clay out when done. Also, the
blade clearance is not a precise as a bluebird - in some parts the blades
clear the inside of the tub by 1/4" but in others it is closer to 3/4",
which just means you get more clay left over and stuck to the inside of the
tub, which again is no big deal. It has an overload protection switch plus
the motor has it's own thermal protection so you will never fry the motor.
Single phase, 220v and has it's own chord and plug. I would sell it for
$1000.
