olympic kiln help

I have been firing an Olympic kiln for years with no problem, it was my
only kiln for a number of years firing both bisque and come 10
successfully using propane. One issue may be leaving the appropriate space
between the bottom and the bottom shelf (3 in.), the sidewalls (3 in.) and
most important the baffle shelf at the top has to be 1.5 in. from the top,
I have fired a bisque with the baffle only 1 inch from the top and had
problems, also having too much space can also cause problems. I have the
instruction booklet still and can copy a diagram of the spacing is you
email me offlist. Also if your 100# propane tank freezes up when firing,
this only happens to me when the propane gets low in the tank, I found
trickling water from the garden hose alleviates this, by warming the tank,
I've also heard suggestions of an old electric blanket wrapped around the
tank, although I have never tried this method.
Hope this helps,
