I just attempted to reserve my room online for
the Galt House for NCECA 2007.

The website "claims" that there are not enough rooms available
and will not allow you to make a reservation online.

It is a glitch in their software.
Do not believe it.
Call them directly.

You can reach their reservation desk directly at (502) 589-5200.
Do not call the "800" number, as that reservation system is for all three
hotels. You want the one downtown...140 North Fourth Street

The reservation code is 114322, or you can just mention Clayart to the
reservation clerk, who may or may not have a clue.

Nothing makes me crazier than software that doesn't work.
Gail needs to go down there and pour a few mint juleps into their server,
while Dolita distracts the clerks.
(I would PAY to see that!)

Best,
Wayne Seidl

How do I always get roped into this stuff??

Besides, I used the website to make my reservation, and it worked fine. Someone in Key West has been out in the midday sun too long.

I waited until today to try to reserve a room per Mel's instructions. I tried online, but received the same "not enough rooms" message that Wayne got last week. Assuming that the problem is with the website rather than Clayarters were busy on the phone today and reserved the rooms made available today, I called. I was initially reluctant to call since it is now 11 pm back East, but I rethought it and called. Too late - reservations open at 7am and close at 11pm. I called at 11:02pm.

Guess I'll try again tomorrow.

but actually sitting in Phoenix, AZ at the moment. Only 1.5 days left in Phoenix and then it's off to the next implementation.
I had fun renting space in Mishy's studio. It was a learning experience - working with porcelain is a little tricky in the very dry, very hot Phoenix weather.
But before I go off to the next implementation, I'm spending 5 days at a Stephani workshop. The recent discussion about wheel and hand building, well, now I know I'm in trouble. I'm a thrower and I'm going to work with Stephani for 5 days. ;-) Always more to learn. I'm looking forward to it.
