How much, and what kind of, preliminary work do you all carry out before
creating new pieces? Just a thumbnail sketch, detailed drawing, fully
realised painting or a mere thought? I'm beginning to do a series of
small paintings of pots and other objects I would like to make, and I
hope the paintings work as pieces in themselves. Does anyone else do
this? It would be interesting to see such paintings exhibited alongside
the actual realised pieces.
The only problem I am having is that I have little idea of what will and
won't work at this stage. It's stuff I can do before getting my hands on
some clay, but I suspect that the sort of thing I could make right now
wouldn't make very inspiring paintings! Perhaps I'll never make these
objects in reality.Well, in 3d anyway.
cheers
Darren
