My husband and I were just talking to some friends about the Red Green
show. Filmed in the great white north with one great quote- "If the women
don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy." And duct
tape could do about anything. Another quote I've seen is "if it won't move
when you want it to then use WD-40. To keep it from moving when it needs
to be still- duct tape." Not Red Green but could be! Need to Tivo "Red
Green" and see if we can find any of the shows. We race a 1970's vintage
sailboat and I bet if I looked I could find blue, black, silver, white, and
clear duct tape! We find the electrical tape really handy too.

.... bought us a house in FL in 1992...2300 square feet, 4 BR with 2 full
and two 1/2 baths, pool, 2 enclosed lanais, over looked a pond, tool shed I
used as a studio...... $172,000. Sold in 1999 for full asking price to
folks retiring from PA. Fast forward to 2005. Bought a house on Long
Island....looked at about 50 houses...$450,000 top price looking to
pay..... Saw one house on a nice .5 acre lot. A 3 BR 1 BA built in 1959
and never updated. 50 amp electrical service. $449,000 and about $10,000
a year taxes. Would have to put about another $100,000 into it to upgrade
the windows, kitchen, etc...... We got lucky with what we did find- new
construction that was move in ready. But having now lived in the northeast
6 winters I have a better understanding as to why people retire to the
south and/or migrate there for the winters.
