Marianne,
Opps! Sorry to add to the confusion.
Since you wanted to bake a cookie that no one has invented,
I thought you were further along on the glaze chemistry
journey. Its a very long road. I thought you were asking
for a list of materials to play around with to make an
"unusual" glaze that's never been invented. My apologies
for misunderstanding the question and springing some
foreign ingredients on you.
Please tuck my previous answer waaaay in the back...
You've got more important things to figure out first.
It is a lot to learn all at once...with so many variables!
It sounds from your reply that you are wanting to make up your
own glaze for the first time and are trying to find out what
"group or type" of ingredients "must" go into a basic glaze?
Is that the question?
We could skip the glaze that no one has invented yet and
stick to just the required ingredients to produce a basic glaze.
