Hello,

I have been making Califorina Art tiles and am trying to match the burnt orange glazes that you
see in some of the Catalina, Taylor, etc. tiles that were originally created using uranium.

Does anyone here know of a way to get a close reproduction of this orange?

Since this is not food service work, I would think it would be a good
application for the Cerdec inclusion stains. The stains are combinable, so
you should be able to produce a pretty broad range of reds, yellows and
oranges, using other materials to darken it as necessary.

Be ready for some sticker shock if you go this route, though. And, of
course, follow the firing directions so that the encapsulation of the
cadmium is not compromised.

donning my asbestos suit for even mentioning cadmium.
Wait, I now I've said "asbestos".
I'm in trouble.
