I have just gotten home from a week long workshop in Natchez, Mississippi
put on by Conner Burns at his studio. Conner opened his pottery a few years
ago and holds occasional workshops there -some that he teaches and some with
visiting artist. This past week he demonstrated his techniques for creating
pitchers and bowls and showed us how he goes about glazing leather hard work
for single firing. In addition to learning a lot of new ways of working we
were also treated to a guided tour of beautiful Natchez. We are lucky to have
such a wonderful resource in this area. I would really encourage any of you
clayarters to attend any of his future workshops if you get a chance. Ann

I just talked to Conner Burns and he said that there is one spot left for
the workshop that starts July 8th at his studio in Natchez, Mississippi. This
is a week long, hands on workshop. I went last year and it was awesome. You
can go to his web site if you want some more info. Ann Currie
