I don't believe my long posting on the 24th ever made it. But I was successfull in repairing the 15+ year old brent wheel, and tracking down the motor manufacture, Scott Motor, in New Mexico. Bob Randolf sent me new brushes overnight and the motor is humming away on my lab table here.
