Hay Crew,

Progress not perfection has to be my practice after that road trip down
below. On a 3 day off I managed to fill more of what will be the pignose
area on the Hobagama. Also had to wade through a bunch of screwups in
Fotkis trying to implament something called AJAX which they have
rolledback for the time being due to members complaining. I don't know
how it loads for some of you but I still get goofs a bit, however it
still works for me. Here is the progress at the end of

Well it's been about a year since Tager died and now, well this ought to
explain it better

Looks like I have a new kiln protector. Just the kind of animal to keep
the bear from making a den in my kiln this winter. Of course there is
also the possablity that another couple of friends who both got bear
permits, Pete and Mary Ann, will get lucky with the bear pit my landlord
doesn't mind in the woods out back. Hope I get some pictures before they
turn one inside out with Pete's 45-70. I hear bear meat is quite tasty.
Wonder if it makes a good pasty. Enjoy the thought and stay in there!

dear gary,
thank you for the photos, i watch with interest
your kiln construction.
mr olof looks like a fine dog.
btw, bear is good cooked outside over a pit
(course you gotta put pots in the pit) the bear
grease dripping down does something nifty
as it seeps thru the fire and ash down to the
pots. the bear will be good cooked all day
and only if he has NOT been eating fish.
and the meat is alittle tough in pastys

kris in wet wet alaska.

where the flood in the valley sent spawning
fish into yards and roads.
