4:00 pm Fee: $185.00 Nature repeats itself =E2=80=93 in minute and simple w=

well as grand and complex ones. In this 2-day hands-on workshop, we will exp=
lore=20
how to use natural forms as a means of personal expression. Using pinching,=20
coil and soft slab construction, we will hand build simple abstract organic=20
forms and consider how they can take on a life of their own to tell a story=20=
or=20
evoke an emotion. We will also explore surface, and discuss the numerous way=
s=20
one can use texture and color to take an organic object beyond the realms of=
our=20
imagination. Students are asked to bring in one object from nature that has=20
personal meaning for them. Various hand building techniques, low fire oxidat=
ion=20
fired surface decoration and threading multiple components on vertical=20
freestanding rods will be covered. Leigh Taylor Mickelson has a Masters in F=
