Hi all,

In the midst of all the PC versus Mac discussion...it's soooo cool that
there are so many clay-making computer professionals on the list. Is anyone
interested in brainstorming a website, wiki or podcast project that we could
all co-produce?

Clearly we have plenty of talent and all the gear we need.

Just some background. I take classes, have taught and, and am otherwise
involved in Chester Springs Studio in Chester Springs, PA. I've been doing
clay for about 5 years, also build furniture and have been a computer geek
since 1980. I've been looking for a way to mix clay with multimedia and
emerging communications mechanisms and would love to discuss ideas that
anyone has.

We have a fast-fire wood kiln at the studio. Just for kicks we could do a
podcast documentary of a firing and put it out there. It'd be totally low
budget, but fun to try.

Let me know if anyone is interested or has other ideas or projects going on
that need some help.

Cheers!

Brandon

I'd just like to back up Brandon's suggestion of a group for clay/computer
folk-although, by and large I don't have a clue what he's talking about.
But I've known him through Chester Springs as a student and colleague. He's
got great energy and generosity of spirit. Something good for the clay
world will come of his idea-even if I'm not capable of understanding exactly
what...

I would be totally interested in listening instead of reading. I can
still work and listen.
Great idea!
I already listen to other podcasts of subjects I am interested in while
I work.

OurMedia.org is a good place to set up: http://www.ourmedia.org

Large public domain files, including podcasts can uploaded there.
Includes weblog, forum and places to put photos, videos, sound recordings
and multimedia.

I started a spot here:

Clay and Computers

You can find my spot here:

I have some videos of taiko drumming and also of my recently
deceased Akita Taiko.

Hi Jeanie,

hehehe, we're talking in e-mail! I can't believe it!

You have the brilliant ideas, content and presentation to help make
something come together. I still want to help you with some of the ideas
you have for print. I tried to put some samples together and got Quark
Express to behave, but still have to figure out how to reproduce your
drawings without looking like goofy computer-drawn stick figures. My
attempts have turned out totally cheesy looking so far.

Eh, I'm not sure I know what I'm talking about yet either, but want to make
some pots and would love to do some kind of website or thing.
