If they are too soft, this might help you: I often pull handles
first, let them dry on top of plastic a little, then completely cover
them. I then throw the bodies. This way, when the bodies are
stiff enough to handle, the handles are ready to be put on. If I
attach the bottom and the look too long, I shorten them, remove the
bottom stump and re-attach them.
