I have a small bluebird extruder which I use for making handles only. I
use only one shape with this extruder. It's a circle little more than
an inch in diameter, it makes it so easy to make handles with, makes
the process so much faster.
So easy to make the primary shape which I put on the form, from which, I
then pull the finished handle, so easy to get the right amount of clay.
For whatever it is I'm making the handle for.
I think using the extruder to make a finished handle. In most cases,
looks like an extruded handle doesn't show the hand, and doesn't feel
right to my eyes or hands.
But thats not how I use it. When making a lot of work tools help, but
they need not get in the way of creativity or of the hand.
I find it a great tool, and that's how I use it. Takes up less the
square foot of space in my studio, and it gets a lot of use.
