I have made it to Brownsville, Texas. I am back online after several
months of being away. The house has room for a studio and I am
unpacking. I have to rebuild my raku kilns and studio set up. It is
great to be here. And great to be back on clayart.

Marcia -

Amazing to think of Texas as "home."

Pamela Page showed up in our studio. She sends her regards.

Marcia,

WELCOME TO TEXAS!
Had any barbeque yet?
Tacos?
Don't eat the cactus with the stickers (I did when a
friend told me they were good while on one of our
camping expeditions). Boy howdy did that hurt...worse
than a jalepeno.

Good to see you back online!

It's always more fun unpacking and setting up a new place than dismantling,
etc. at the old one, in my experience anyway. Hope things go well getting
set up.

Hey Marcia, welcome to the Great-State-O-Texas (biggest one in the
contiguous 48)!!!!!!..........winter home to invading hordes from the
frozen North, the number one producer of Wind Energy, home of NASA, The
Cowboys, Texans, Astros, Rangers, Spurs, Mavericks, a host of critters
in the bush that you wanna steer clear of, huge open spaces, mountains,
giant cactus, real live cowboys, drug store cowboys, a few big cities,
rednecks, urban sophisticates, lots-o-guns, a whole bunch of signs on
the highways with "speed limits" that most ignore, the best damned BBQ
in the whole damned country, Tex Mex food, and a fine place to work
with clay.
Hope ya'll enjoy your stay!!

Yeah, Marcia is finally in Texas! Ha ha, we got Marcia. Neener neener neener.

Too bad I'm leaving for 2 1/2 weeks on Sunday, Marcia. Plan on
Bountiful Bowls in February. Private email me your addy if you're
interested--I'll have an entry form sent to you. You would be quality
for the show. Hendrix Hotel might be full, but I'll be firing the pit
again this year. And this time we're firing off even if Dale is late.
Hear that, Dale? Hee hee.

Taylor, in nearby Rockport, TX (well, near for Texas)

Agreed that Marcia will find as I did, much happiness in Texas. Welcome
Marcia!!
Hard to believe that I've been in Texas for 20 years now.
Yes, sometimes the weather can be terribly hot, highs in the triple digits.
Hotter when standing next to a roaring gas kiln. But at least we here can
get outside without freezing most all year long. Easier for Taylor to dig
his pit in February. Yes I will be in Rockport for the Bountiful Bowls
Festival then and do hope Marcia will reserve a space and join us for a
great couple of days along the Texas Gulf coast.
Gonna have to try some different clay for your pit firing Taylor. If I can't
be there on time then I will mail a few pots so you can load anytime. Mucho
work in the studio for the TCF in October, Tennessee in November.

I thought the wind was going to carry the whole pit crew away and set the
houses on fire. Maybe better this next year and I will try to be on time.
See y'all soon!
