There is an article with lots of pictures showing how I raw-glaze for
single-firing at:

The fountain glazer makes it easy, but is not a neccessity.

Single firing is not a mystery. Stephen Hill has written articles on it in
"Ceramics Monthly," and there are entire books and chapters of books devoted
to it. Those who single-fire, like myself, swear by it. Everything that I
do is single-fired. Once you really know what you are doing, anything but
the thinnest of pieces can be raw-glazed.

The only "problems" with single firing are 1/ the pieces to be
glazed have to be absolutely DRY! 2/not having been fired the pieces
have to be handled with extra care... and 3/ if there is a accident
in the kiln, you've got a mess...I've been single firing stoneware
for over forty years and have never had a problem. Spraying,
dipping, brushing and fountain glazing. There's a nice sequence on
the web site. On the Pottery Page.
